Having never really spent much time east of Indiana during my youth, I was unfamiliar with Yuengling. But while in Lancaster, some family members invited me to join them for a visit to "America's Oldest Brewery." The idea scratched my How It's Made/cold beer/history itch, and so we piled in the car one morning and drove north.
It would have been good for someone to check the brewery's hours. We managed to arrive after the last tour, and the day's failure still ranks an occasional spot in our family conversations.
