February at the beach in Spain is an experience. It's beautiful. The days sometimes reach the upper 70s, and folks from France and Germany visit to enjoy some sunny warmth. But it's all relative, of course. On one of these warm mid-winter days, as I sat with my wife on a bench at the beach in Benicàssim, we watched a Spanish family pass by, all in warm winter wear. The grandfather in particular was dressed for a cold day——calf-length woolen coat, scarf, gloves——and we could overhear him complaining about how warm it was.
