Overall, we spent about 4 months in the US. Our son was just about 18 months old at the time, and we had just discovered we were returning to Spain with a daughter on the way.
While in the US, the ministry project we had been working with in Benicàssim underwent a few significant changes——effectively, the team that was there when we left was no longer there when we returned, and a new team had picked up the ball——and so we were traveling back into an unknown situation with unknown coworkers.
This was God's providential care, and opened up the opportunity for us to focus more on what we felt equipped to do to serve the Spanish church. It wasn't an easy time, but it was good.
